I have released a big update to Ekranotes - my first tvOS app. Following the announcement of the new Apple TV, I was pretty excited to build a small utility app for this new platform.

After going through the tvOS Human Interface Guidelines and developer resources, it took me a few evenings to make the first version of the app.

Version 2.0

I was lucky enough to attend the Apple TV Tech Talks in London where I got some design feedback as well as some new ideas on how to improve the app.

Some notable changes in the new version include:

  • Sticky notes are now bigger and respond to your touches
  • Notes are written in a custom handwritten font
  • The detail screen is now full screen and uses paging

The Future

tvOS 10 is right around the corner, and the plan is to update Ekranotes to support Dark Mode and other new features once they are officially available.
